World Wide Technology (WWT) Data Warehouse Analysts work in a very dynamic and challenging environment designing and implementing our Enterprise Data Warehouse. There are no skill silos here. Our analysts utilize a broad range of technical and functional skills while working with a wide range of corporate stakeholders to understand business processes, create functional-technical designs and models, and work closely with ETL developers to ensure proper implementation. As a member of our Data Warehouse team you will:

• Be equal member of a cohesive and selfless team. • Take complete ownership of your data warehouse designs and information solutions with the goal of exceeding customer expectations. • Work closely with business aligned IT Analysts and members of the business community to gain knowledge and experience in a wide range of complicated and challenging business processes. • Based upon your understanding of the business process, design Fact and Dimension tables as well as innovative solutions to complicated data issues which enhance traditional star-schema data structures. • Debug any issues in production environment and be part of the Data Warehousing production support team. • Work in an agile team - plan, prioritize, design, test and coordinate end to end delivery of ETL solutions.

Qualified applicants will:

• Have BS/BA degree with 4 years data warehousing experience. • Have extensive experience in Oracle database. • Have experience working with and understanding complex business processes to create functional-technical data warehousing requirements. • Have working experience with dimensional models (star-schema). • Have excellent SQL skills with working PL/SQL knowledge. • Have strong analytical and problem solving capabilities. • Ability to predict future data requirements and design robust data models. • Be able to work on above and beyond technical and process initiatives. • Be open to new technologies, industry trends and ability to adopt latest design methodologies. • Have strong debugging skills for production support • Embrace the WWT culture and values.

Your design shows who you are! (While the position is primarily that of a Business Analyst; understanding dimensional modeling is a key requirement)

There is a widget order processing system. Send us a brief description or diagram of the design (along with your resume) that describes the order process in the form of a dimensional model. In your dimensional model, how would one handle a transactional architecture where a Widget can belong to two or more Item Categories (or groupings) simultaneously? Be creative!
